Welcome to the Coast Guard Auxiliary Site

We call ourselves “Super 8”—a division of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary comprised of volunteers from Kennewick, Spokane and Yakima, Washington and Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, Idaho.  We are proud of our missions and invite you to join us in becoming a part of Team Coast Guard.

Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as patrolling our magnificent waterways, search and rescue, waterway watch and environmental protection.  We verify aids to navigation along our rivers and lakes and are an integral part of Homeland Security.  Teaching public education classes, conducting vessel safety checks, promoting Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth as well as participation in parades and standing watch at safety booths confirms our dedication to what we consider of most importance.  If only one life is saved by our efforts, we have done our job!

Semper Paratus,

Kathleen Goodwin, DCP-8

Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty…the core values of our service are at the heart of our commitment in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. We will align our organizational strategies with these values and the Commandant’s Direction as we chart a course to the future. We will stand side- by- side with the Coast Guard - Semper Paratus - ready to answer the call of the Nation.
